Charity Presentation Information

Presentations should be simple and not overly formal. (Remember the presentation should only take 5 minutes including a little time for questions and answers). If your organization is selected, you should be prepared to discuss the following topics on behalf of the organization:

  1. Confirm that the organization is a recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

  2. State the name or the organization you would like to receive funding.

  3. Where is the organization located?

  4. What is the mission of the organization?

  5. What purpose does the organization serve? (Who? What do they do? How do they do it?)

  6. How would they benefit from the donation? How would the funds be used? Examples:

    • Describe the program you would like to see funded. Provide some background for information for program. Who will it impact? How many will it impact?

    • How essential is this program? How will it impact our community?

  7. What is the organization's operating budget? How does the organization sustain their budget (ie. Grant support, individual contributions, etc.)

  8. If your organization has a large operating budget, we recommend that you work closely with the organization to “pitch” a small project where the funds are earmarked or designated. This would enable the women to feel more invested in the project and feel a sense of ownership/impact.

  9. End with a heartfelt ask and thank you.
