Charity Presentation Information
Presentations should be simple and not overly formal. (Remember the presentation should only take 5 minutes including a little time for questions and answers). If your organization is selected, you should be prepared to discuss the following topics on behalf of the organization:
-
Confirm that the organization is a recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
-
State the name or the organization you would like to receive funding.
-
Where is the organization located?
-
What is the mission of the organization?
-
What purpose does the organization serve? (Who? What do they do? How do they do it?)
-
How would they benefit from the donation? How would the funds be used? Examples:
-
Describe the program you would like to see funded. Provide some background for information for program. Who will it impact? How many will it impact?
-
How essential is this program? How will it impact our community?
-
-
What is the organization's operating budget? How does the organization sustain their budget (ie. Grant support, individual contributions, etc.)
-
If your organization has a large operating budget, we recommend that you work closely with the organization to “pitch” a small project where the funds are earmarked or designated. This would enable the women to feel more invested in the project and feel a sense of ownership/impact.
-
End with a heartfelt ask and thank you.
